The Energy Security and Resource Efficiency in Somaliland Programme (ESRES) would like to inform interested suppliers of the Request for Quotations (RfQ) for 90 three-phase energy meters. ESRES Programme Manager (ESRES PM) will procure the meters to conduct a Loss Reduction Study under ESRES Phase 2 to analyse the performance of the six hybrid mini-grids funded under ESRES Phase 1. The meters will be placed on the transformers of the six hybrid mini-grid systems.
ESRES supports the Government of Somaliland to improve access to affordable electricity for vulnerable communities through the promotion of renewable energies. This choice for renewable energies is based on the premise that green infrastructure investments in fragile states have potentially positive poverty reduction benefits while at the same time reducing the country’s vulnerability to the negative effects of climate change. The day-to-day implementation of ESRES is conducted Mott MacDonald who is assigned the ESRES PM.
