Health Poverty Action works for health and global justice in partnership with people who have been marginalised and pushed into poverty.

We work with communities to help them demand their right to health, and to challenge the power imbalances that deny them their health rights.

Health Poverty Action’s work has grown to include programmes in 14 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America (with more currently in development).  We always prioritise the poorest and the most marginalised – those neglected by governments and almost everyone else.  This has led us to work in some very difficult environments, often providing the only external assistance.  Health Poverty Action currently employs about 500 staff worldwide (with the vast majority located in our programme countries).

The two Team Leader Positions are senior leadership and management roles responsible for the planning, organisation and implementation the SHINE Mott Macdonald Essential Package of Health Services project, each responsible for the two Lots, namely Boroma and Zeila districts of Awdal region (Lot 3) and Burao and Odwyne districts of Togdheer region (Lot 4).  The two incumbents are responsible for the planning, organizing, operating, staffing and human resources management, budgeting, financial and risk management, representation, networking and partnerships management relevant to the respective Lots of the SHINE.

The incumbents will be responsible for the joint implementation of the programme in their respective areas in partnership with the Regional Health Teams, District Health Teams, Local Partner Organizations, and other NGOs working in the health sector in the target areas.

Prospective candidates should have at least 10 years’ experience as a health and/or related development manager, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa. They should also possess extensive experience in a senior leadership and management role in an international non-profit organisation.
