The construction activities we deal with involve direct implementation of the construction process.

We invite applications from highly qualified and capable individuals in Financial Accounting for the construction activities in Hargeisa. The successful individual must live and work in Hargeisa, Somaliland where the area of operation is based.

Job Title: Accounts Coordinator

Job Duties expected but not limited to

  • Use of proper accounting software and development of accounting records, notification, and approval systems that is timely and efficient (ADO relevant tools – Peachtree, Excel etc.)
  • Timely execution of the appropriate controls for financial management and filing of all bank statement, records, presentation, and reports
  • Create presentations for strategic deployment of key input, output, and outcomes within the descriptive budgetary elements
  • Maintain company contact list database and Work with internal team in the development of tools for needs definitions
  • Preparation, evaluation and filing of the business accounts, updating of the account entries as often as possible and only when necessary
  • Use company resources within the set limits, and incorporate effective sales management within their set tasks
  • Follow up on clients concerns, complaints and issues, and examine account statements to makes sure accuracy is maintained
  • Ensure that the company follows the regulation and laws within which the national standardization requires for company compliance
  • Inspect accounting systems and create a budget line for expenditures in terms of the organization and maintenance of record tracking
  • Recommend best practices to the management as suggestion to reduce costs, enhance revenue, and improve on profitability
  • Provision of auditing services for business and the individually assigned tasks
  • Drawing up and automation of process flows with transactions, and reviews
  • Preparation of payments with disbursement tracking and proof availability management
  • Set up user subsystems that highlight the line management approval and requisitions with checkup, and resolutions constraints defined
  • Registration of the administrative and subproject expenditures within eth accountings systems for transparency and accountability
  • Control the utilization of petty cash and its frequency with proper daily cash flow ledger
  • Cosigning the financial transactions with executive (will be directed) and verify payments within agreements boundaries
  • Develop and organize the education of the financial policies within the company with inclusion of raising requisition, market definition of product prices, and approval of purchases
  • Follow up of funding commitments to ensure there is timely disbursement for project implementation activities
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, cash flows, quarterly reports, bank reconciliations, and collate the financial reporting tools for materials, funding, and overseeing management aspects in line with project application
  • Define contract management elements with application of policies and operational requirements

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management
  • Recognized accounting title and necessary accreditations
  • Have familiarity with Peachtree Accounting, excel, quick book, and or Agresso and similar systems
  • At least 5 years’ experience with fiancé and operations management

Capacity and Skills Description

  • An MBA in Commerce, and related field
  • 5 years’ experience in similar works in roads and bridge construction
  • Logistics knowledge would be an added advantage
  • Have proven capability to speak and communicate in formal English, Somali written and spoken
  • Understand the responsibilities of quality in content of the financial reporting, auditing, and significance at all levels of the organization
